State Alleviates Concerns About Road Work in Milford

MILFORD -- The concerns of some Devon residents about traffic in road work zones have been addressed by the state Department of Transportation, a city official said. DOT representatives attended a Devon Revitalization Committee meeting last week in which officials pledged to hire police officers and add signs on both sides of Washington Bridge, which carries Route 1 over the Housatonic River to Stratford.

Community Development Director Robert Gregory said a half dozen neighbors attended the meeting, and had previously raised concerns that driving is difficult because work on the road is causing numerous delays.
