Trash haulers would be able to start their downtown routes at 6 a.m., but must stay out of all other areas of the city until 7 a.m., under a compromise struck this week by members of the Board of Aldermen's Legislation Committee.
The board last summer passed a refuse collection ordinance amendment that restricted trash pickups by private companies to the hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. citywide, in response to complaints from citizens who were being awakened by the ruckus of trash trucks in the wee hours of the morning.See the full content of this document
