About 30 volunteers worked Saturday to clean up the beach at the Connecticut Audubon Society's Coastal Center at Milford Point. The volunteers included Cub Scout Pack 709 of Calf Pen Meadow School, representatives of the Environmental Concerns Coalition, and other residents, including Democratic state Rep. Richard F. Roy.
The workers covered a mile of barrier beach and netted about 500 pounds of trash from Smith's Point, a popular spot in the spring for nesting birds, striped bass and fishermen.See the full content of this document
