3 Area Car Washes Raise Funds for Late Cop's Family

Summary

Three Splash car washes in New Haven and Hamden will donate 50 percent of the car wash proceeds on Sunday to help support the education of the children of New Haven police Officer Dan Picagli, who died on Oct. 21 of injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle on Oct. 17. Picagli is survived by his wife, Dee, and children.

"Our hearts go out to the family of Officer Picagli," said Mark Curtis, president and co-founder of Splash. "All of us at Splash feel compelled to do something for his children. Brave men and women who wear the uniform of policeman or fireman put their lives at risk for us every day. It's the least we can do to thank them."
