Doting Hamden Mother Knew Tough Love Equally Important?
HAMDEN -- Longtime resident Louise Nista was very loving and warm, but she also was the family disciplinarian. "When I was young and would get in trouble, my mother would chase me around the house with a broom in her hand," laughed a son, Angelo Nista of West Hartford. "She never actually hit me with it, but she threatened to. And that kept me in line." Nista died July 21 at age 95.
